Give

Make it permanent.

Protection is not a one-off purchase. It is surveyed, drafted, recorded, and then checked every year for as long as the land exists. That is what your gift pays for.

Payment is handled on the next step. Suggested amounts and fund options are placeholders for PLT to set.

Where it goes

What your gift actually pays for

  1. Before the easement

    The survey and the baseline

Every easement starts with a documented record of exactly what is there on the day it is signed — boundaries, buildings, habitat, condition. Without a baseline there is nothing to enforce against later.

  2. At signing

    The legal drafting

Each easement is negotiated for one specific property and one specific family, then recorded at the county courthouse. That is legal work, and it is not cheap.

  3. Every year after

    The annual monitoring visit

Somebody walks the ground, compares it against the baseline, and writes it up. Forever. This is the obligation PLT takes on the day an easement is signed, and it is the one your gift keeps funded.

PLT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
